Mahogany Natural Edge Open Vase

Turned recently from an extremely large Mahogany tree which was stained by a few nails that were driven into the tree when it was a young sapling. Preserved on the rim of this piece is an edge of the trees thick and beautiful dark chocolate bark, transitioning to light sapwood and then the interior rosy Mahogany interior. Finely sanded to 5000 grit, and coated with multiple layers of piano lacquer to a museum quality finish.  11" tall x 17.5" diameter
